Google, the search engine juggernaut is gearing up for helping students. The giant now adds a brand new college search knowledge panel to help students find the information about the colleges.

When a student search for college related information, Google college search knowledge panel would present more educational options to find a college that meets his needs.
- The panel gives users a complete insight of the college including:
- The cost of going to college for both parents and students
- The average cost after student aid is applied
- Breakdowns by household income
Interestingly, the panel also showcases the graduation rates and typical annual income 10 years after enrollment. The feature aims at offering you better understand the potential outcomes of attending that school. The search results even display enrollment rates, stats about the student body, notable alumni and similar colleges.
Google ties up with the US Department of Education’s College Scorecard and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) for the data required for showing the results. Google says that it has worked with education researchers and nonprofit organizations, high school counselors, and admissions professionals to build an experience to meet students’ College search needs.
