It’s something what Xiaomi users have been waiting for. Xiaomi’s Redmi 5 Note Pro phones have started getting latest MIUI 10 update based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The Chinese smartphone giant has announced the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Note Pro Android 8.1 Oreo Update via its Online forums.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Note Pro Gets Android 8.1 Oreo Update
As the Android 8.1 Oreo Update is being rolled out, it might take up some time before showing up on every Redmi 5 Note Pro handset.
If you have the device, head straight to Phone Settings or boot up the Updater app to check if it’s available for you or not. If you can’t wait to get the update, do so by downloading the ROM from the company’s forum post. The Android 8.0 Oreo updated isn’t limited to Redmi 5 Note Pro, but is also being rolled out for other premium Xiaomi handsets including the Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2 and the Mi Note 2.
Android 8.1 Oreo Update : The Improvements
With Android 8.1 Oreo Update, these handsets get a slew of new features including a revamped UI, changed look for notification settings, and more. Few features of the update are reportedly inherited from Android Pie OS. The update arrives with new full-screen gestures for a “faster, smarter, and more convenient” navigation experience, claims Xiaomi.
With the update in place, phones with a single camera running on MIUI 10 can support capturing portrait mode shots. The update brings improvements for clock, Notes and other system apps. The UI is designed to accomplish navigational needs of full-screen devices.
Other noteworthy features bundled with the update are simplified system sounds and ambient sounds of the forest, beach, drizzle, stove fire, and summer night to help users focus on their tasks.
