WhatsApp Group Description Feature is All Set to Hit the App

Facebook owned WhatsApp is now testing a new group description feature for Android and description feature.

The feature will let group admins add a description to their respective groups, similar to descriptions we write to our personal profiles. The feature appears to be in testing phase on WhatsApp beta for Android and Windows, and would be rolled out soon.

The company hasn’t revealed the timeline for the feature. You may, however, register to join the beta program for early access to the feature. Update your WhatsApp for Android / Windows phone with the latest version from Google Play Store to access the feature.

As stated, the WhatsApp Group Description feature is currently available for the beta users. Now they can change or add a description to a particular group.

To note, the feature is now available for WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.18.57 and WhatsApp for Windows beta version 2.18.28. Just update to the respective latest versions of the WhatsApp to get the feature in.

Once the app has been updated, select any of your WhatsApp group and head over to the “About” section of the group. Click the Group name to go to the “About” section. Now you can see a new option for adding Group description. The Group description works similar to how you add a description to your personal profiles.
