Sony’s Entry Level Smartphones Xperia R1, R1 Plus Launched in India

After launching a slew of premium range devices, Sony has launched its mid-range smartphones Sony Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 plus for Indian markets.

The first of two, Sony Xperia R1, will be sold at a price of Rs 12,990, while the Xperia R1 Plus will cost buyers Rs 14,990. These phones will be available on official Sony outlets, major mobile stores across India in offline mode and via Amazon India and Flipkart through online mode.

Both the devices the Xperia R1 and the Xperia R1 Plus will be Sony’s entry level phones made with plastic body and curved 2.5D glass up-front. Being the entry level budget phones, they will be coming without a fingerprint scanner and will be available in two black and silver color variants.

Either the devices are identical at specs and hardware level.  Both the devices feature a 5.2-inch HD screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor on board. The devices run Android Nougat software that will be upgradable to the latest Android Oreo.

On camera front, both Xperia R1 and the Xperia R1 Plus flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. For selfies an 8-megapixel front-facing camera is available at front.

Both the devices offer dual-SIM 4G LTE support and carry USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. Moreover, they have a 2,620mAh battery that powers the devices round the clock.
