How To Stop WhatsApp From Sharing Your Details With Facebook?

WhatsApp’s decision to share users’ phone numbers and other details didn’t surprise me. Acquisition of WhatsApp by Facebook itself raised so many questions at that time and the pertinent one was how social network will exploit such huge user database under its disposal.

Now, WhatsApp is set to share your personal details specially your phone number with its parent company Facebook. Notably, WhatsApp is a no-ads messaging platform, so my guess is that the Facebook will use this data to show Facebook users more targeted ads. Using this huge repository of WhatsApp data, Facebook will start showing Facebook friend suggestions and ads.

The decision didn’t go well to many of the users as they felt the sharing could compromise their privacy. If you’re one among those and don’t want to let Facebook access your data for any good reason, you can do it manually via your WhatsApp app.

Find below the steps to stop WhatsApp from sharing your data with Facebook.
