Google AdWords Update: Notes, Account Performance Score Coming Soon

Google has been consistently adding new features and utilities to its new Google AdWords interface. Now, a slew of additional features are being added to the AdWords interface to improve productivity on the platform.  At SMX West in San Jose, AdWords Director of Product Management Anthony Chavez announced these new features.

Create Notes to Mark Performance:

Captured below the performance chart, Notes will allow you to mark important entries or notes about the campaign. You can Notes in AdWords directly in the new UI. It will be visible to all other users that have access to an account.  Notes are captured below the performance graph area, and you can expand Notes column in the right to view multiple entries in detail. Notes will be rolling out in the following weeks for any level of accounts.

Prioritize optimizations with Recommendations:

Another improvement announcement is the renaming of the Opportunities tab in the new AdWords interface. The page is now renamed ‘Recommendations’ with new features arriving to it.  This is to make the AdWords app more flexible in offering suggestions to advertisers for optimizing their campaigns and improving performance.

Now, as many as 16 new types of recommendations have been added to the page. They are specifically tailored to an account.

Some of these recommendations include adding new ad suggestions, adding ads to ad groups, adding audiences, pausing poorly performing keywords, removing non-serving keywords and more.

Google said that the recommendations page will be a time saver to educate users on areas of improvement to drive better results.

Account Performance Score:

Google also announced the addition of a new Account Performance Score to the Recommendations page. The Account Performance Score appears will be a visual representation to locate the biggest optimization opportunities where advertisers should focus their efforts. The score will be integrated into the Recommendations experience.
