How to Pass PMP Exam? A Quick Guide

The first time I know PMP was when I chatted with several project managers of the company and learned that they had all passed the PMP exam. At that time, they also advised me to apply for the PMP exam. Compared with the difficulty in project schedule control, I decided to apply for the PMP exam and give myself a lesson again.

Now I’d like to share my personal remote PMP exam prep experience.

Enrollment

I participated in SPOTO PMP training organization, and most of the company’s PMs who had passed the PMP test also participated in this training organization. As long as you fill in the relevant information according to the requirements sent by the teacher, there is no need to ask about what you need to do next.

It will not occupy too much of your time, and it will not distract you too much because of the registration process. After all, there are a lot of things we need to do at work.

Stage 1

The three thick and heavy reference books about the exam really brought me headache. But don’t be panic! Overcome the difficulties according to the learning plan provided by your teacher, and you will finally find it so easy!

• Finish PMBOK. (page 1 to page 537).
• Focus on five process groups and ten knowledge areas.
• Finish reading within 8 to 10 days.
• Finish this stage three months before the exam.

Stage 2

• Watch videos in the online learning platform (chapter 1 to chapter 13).
• Finish the videos within 11 days.
• Read PMBOK again carefully under the guidance of the videos.
• Finish this stage two months before the exam.

Stage 3

Do exercises again and again!

• Do the five sets of review exercises in the thematic database of the online platform.
• Record your mistakes. Analyze and memorize them.
• Finish this stage a month before the exam.

Sprint Again

• Do two sets of PMP mock exam. Watch videos about the explanation of the mock exams. Look back to your mistakes before the exam.
• Master the five process groups and ten knowledge areas.

Supplements

• Clock in the small routine daily.
• Watch live-streaming videos about calculation, change, quality, and risk.
• Read online text guidance.\
• The time limit is carried out simultaneously in the three stages. You will not feel under great pressure.
• Communicate with others in the WhatsApp group. You will get many different ideas. There are excellent teammates in the group!

The Exam

• Make sure that you take a good rest before the exam. You will feel really exhausted after four hours of the exam.
• Make sure to save at least half an hour to apply the answer sheet even if you haven’t finished the test. Because there will always be the situation that you don’t have time to finish applying!
