Google is giving online retailers a new sophisticated way to promote their products. The search giant has just brought in shoppable ads in image search to enable merchants promote their products.
Google Shoppable Ads on Image Search
The latest ad format will allow retailers to showcase multiple products within a single ad unit. These ad units will appear among Google Images results.
The ad units look like shoppable pins on Pinterest where multiple items within a photo are tagged for sale. The shoppable ad units will have “Sponsored” label as well as a price tag icon.
Interested users can click on their product of choice to visit the product page and make a purchase. To note, the Shoppable ads feature is being tested with select retailers.
Google may roll out this ad unit with more categories and across more retailers over the next few months. Besides, Google is also planning to launch ‘Showcase Shopping ads’ to image search.
These ads will appear in regular search results. Stay tuned to get more information on this.
