Yahoo To Sell Its Core Web Business; Verizon and AT&T In The Race


It seems Yahoo is at the verge of its end and all the efforts of its revival went unheard. Wall Street Journal says in its report that Yahoo has requested potential buyers to come forward with their preliminary bids to buy Yahoo’s core web business.

image (1)Yahoo has set April the deadline for submission of proposal. Looks like Yahoo wants to close the deal by June or July this year. Rumors are there that Yahoo may sell out its core web business at approximately at $10 billion to the potential buyers.

The major players who are in the queue to buy Yahoo are Verizon, AT&T, Time and private equity firms TPG and KKR & Co. Recently, Yahoo asked buyers to furnish details about which Yahoo assets they hope to buy, the price tag quote and the method of financing the purchase.

Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer was constantly under the dock for failing to contain slow results on the search portal restructuring program. Amidst this speculation of her departure, she cleared that she will quit after the sale of Yahoo.
