Xiaomi To Setup Data Center In India By 2015

Popularly known as Chinese Apple, Xiaomi, the China based Smartphone maker is all  set to setup its data center in India by next year. The move is being seen as an attempt to improve the service quality and address the security and privacy related concerns. Recently, the company tied up with Amazon web services to store the data of its non-Chinese consumers. The venture is under process and may be in place by the end of this month.

A company official reveled that Xiaomi is holding talks with India based data centers and will be settled with one by the next year. He told that the move will improve company’s quality of services and their Indian users will feel more secure and comfortable. He added that they are committed to ensure users in India that their privacy concerns are being addressed properly.

Though, the company was mulling to setup their data centre in India earlier this year, the massive response for their benchmark  smartphones MI3 and Redmi 1S pushed them to do it without further delay. Xiaomi has already sold over 1.2L MI3 and 5L Redmi 1S smartphones since its listing on Flipkart in July this year.
