It’s not so long when Facebook introduced dark mode for its platform. Now, the social network is gearing up for powering up its messaging app WhatsApp with the dark mode feature. This means you can soon enjoy chatting and collaborating on WhatsApp in dark mode.
WhatsApp Dark Mode Feature
WABetaInfo reported that Facebook owned social messaging app WhatsApp has finally started working on adding dark mode to its Android app. The dark mode feature will be available on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.19.82.
The portal shared multiple screenshots of WhatsApp’s Settings menu in the dark mode. The screenshots show main settings, account settings, chat settings and notification settings among others.
The WhatsApp Dark Mode Feature is in its early stages of development and will take some time to roll out. Alongside the dark mode, WhatsApp is looking at adding an authentication feature to its Android app in order to add a layer of security to the app by allowing users to lock the app natively.
The authentication feature will be the part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.19.83. Users can enable the feature by tapping on the Privacy option in the Account Settings of the app.
When users enable the ‘Use fingerprint to Unlock option, they will be asked to punch in their fingerprint to confirm the operation. Once the option is enabled, users can configure the app to lock immediately, after 1 minute, after 10 minutes or after 30 minutes.
Another enhancement that is all set to coming to the WhatsApp is a small improvement to the way its audio files appear in the chats. Now WhatsApp will show the audio file name within in the audio bubble.
Stay tuned for more on this. We will keep you updated on the upgrades and enhancements that are slated in near future.
