Nowadays, people from all around the world, no matter their age, own cell phones.  Whether they are rich or in a developing country, at least 94% of these users will send texts.

Short messaging service (SMS) enabled cell phone users to start texting in 1993. From sending only 0.4 texts per month in 1995, it has increased to 35 texts in 2000. Today, 4.2 billion people around the world are still using SMS.

If you practice SMS Marketing and wish to reach more people, texting is more reliable than phone calls or emails. This is because many individuals, especially millennials, find that texting is more convenient, less stressful, and more efficient.

It’s easier to remember details and notifications if text messages are sent. Instead of people having to grab a pen and paper to list things down, they can just read the SMS and leave it in their inbox for reference.

Another important thing to take note of is that people reply faster to texts than emails.Statistics show that text messaging has a 45% response rate, while emails only have 6%. Further, it only takes an average of 90 seconds for a person to respond to an SMS, but 90 minutes for email.
