Samsung To Launch Samsung Tizen Smartphones In India
To beat the android and android-one frenzy, Samsung is all set to launch its $100 flagship smartphone running on company’s own operating system Tizen. The phone will hit the Indian market later this month.
Sources revealed that Samsung will hold a press conference on Dec. 10 to officially announce the launch. The first Tizen smartphone will be named as Z1. Samsung officials however refused to make any comment when approached.
Samsung initially had plans to launch Tizen smartphones in Russia but later scrapped the idea for various reasons. Currently Samsung’s smartwatch products currently run on the platform.
Most of the Samsung smartphones are based on Google’s Android operating system. Now, the company moves ahead with their plan to have their own full fledged Tizen OS. The move is being seen as reducing the Samsung’s dependency on Android.
The first ever Tizen smartphone will have a 4.8-inch HD (720p) Super AMOLED display, similar to the one found in the Galaxy S3.
