Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 Unveiled Ahead of Note 8 Launch

Amid the chatter of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 device being launched on September 12, the Korean phone magnet has quietly launched a brand new tablet in the Tab A series in Vietnam.

The device, dubbed the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is an upgraded version of 8-inch tablet that company first launched 2015. The tab device carries almost the similar specs of its 2015 model except battery capacity and camera configurations.

The new Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has been launched at VND 6,490,000 which roughly translate to Rs. 18,200) for the 4G LTE.

The spec-heavy tab device Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) features an 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC. The phone comes packed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. Tab’s native storage can be expended up to 256 GB via microSD card.

The new Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is an Android 7.1 Nougat device with single Nano-SIM card. For connectivity options, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, and GPS + GLONASS / Beidou.

Moreover, the tablet measures 212.1×124.1×8.9mm and weighs 364grams. The device is bit thicker and heavier than the 2015 model due to a bigger 5000mAh battery. The company hasn’t made any words on when the device will hit Indian markets.
