The latest tip is about Samsung upcoming and most anticipating smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9. Reports suggest that with the phone being in pipeline, Samsung will introduce a facial recognition feature. The feature will be quite similar to the Face ID tech that debuted on the Apple iPhone X.

Twitter tipster Ice Universe shared this rumor via their official twitter account. The tweet says that the Galaxy S9 will use a “3D sensor front camera”. However, they haven’t explained how it will work.

To recall, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices are already equipped with iris scanning technology, so it’s not very far-fetched to assume the upcoming device with 3D sensor camera. It will be an additional layer of security for the users.

The Galaxy 9 front camera will be able to create a 3D depth-sensing map of your face to recognize your identity and may also be able to ‘see you’ in low-light conditions.
