Saavn Includes Twitter Powered Online Radio Station To Its Service
US based Indian digital music service Saavn is reportedly adding twitter powered online radio station, that will enable users to request their favorite songs by tweeting it to the official @SaavnRadio account. Techcrunch reported the development first.
Rishi Malhotra, CEO and co-founder of the service said:
“The radio feature already accounts for over half of all activity on the service and a large number of users are already active on Twitter.”
Though Saavn is available worldwide, it has 70 percent of total user base from India. As per company stats, more than 100 million Saavn apps have been downloaded worldwide.
A few months back, Saavn signed an agreement with Warner Music and EMI Music that led Saavn to expand its song database with 800,000 tracks from international artists. With the addition, Saavn enjoys almost two million tracks and covers all premier labels including Sony and Universal.
Last year too, the company entered into the collaboration with London-base d Shazam Entertainment Ltd that offers music/media apps.
