Reliance Jio 4G: A Digital Ecosystem

Reliance Jio 4G is live in India and to support this new technology, Reliance has announced its list of VoLTE supported mobile phones. These smartphones are called as ‘LYF’ and are pretty advanced technologically.

With Jio 4G, Reliance promises to serve high quality voice to all of India. They claim that Jio is not just a telecom network, but an ecosystem that will allow us Indians to experience the digital life to the fullest. Their ecosystem comprises of strong broadband networks, helpful applications, useful services and LYF smart phones.

Reliance Jio has built its own media that include the most comprehensive libraries and programs of recorded and live sports, music, live and catchup movies, events and televisions.

Jio is about creating connected intelligence for billion global minds to unleash the power of a young and emerging nation.

As part of the digital ecosystem, Reliance Jio has come up with several apps. They will require a Jio ID along with a password after downloading and installing these apps. Some of them are –

My Jio

This application is similar to the My Vodafone and My Airtel app. It serves the purpose of checking your data consumption rate, keeping a track of your balance and also recharging your number. After installing the app, create your Jio ID and password to login.

Jio Join

With Jio Join you can make calls through your native dialer to any other number as long as your device supports VoLTE. The purpose of the Jio Join app is to facilitate voice calls on smartphones that don’t support VoLTE.

However, this doesn’t mean you have to abandon your native dialer. You can continue dialing numbers from your native dialer, but when you do, the Jio Join app would appear as it has permission to draw over other apps. Technically it’s the Jio Join app that would connect your call but the call log would still be stored by your native dialer.

Jio Security

This is a Norton powered app that classifies high risk files on your smartphone and quarantines it. It’s a security app crafted to keep your phone safe from any viruses and threats from hackers who can compromise your personal information.
