Oppo’s next flagship Oppo A83 is all here with mid level features and specifications. Reportedly, the new affordable smartphone has been launched in China with a new facial recognition technology and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The phone carries a price tag of CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 13,700) and is available in Champagne and Black colour variants in China for pre-order with sale starting December 29. There are no words on when the phone would be available to other markets.
On specs front, the Oppo flagship Oppo A83 features a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) and runs Color OS 3.2-based on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo A83 offers a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD display, an 18:9 aspect ratio and comes packed with 3090mAh battery.
On camera front, the phone Oppo A83 flaunts comes a 13-megapixel camera with an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the phone comes packed with an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone offers 32GB native storage expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).
For connectivity, the phone offers features like 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Wi-Fi Direct. Moreover, the phone has proximity sensor, accelerometer, and compass sensors as well. The phone Oppo A83 is 150.5×73.1×7.7mm in dimension and weigh 143 grams.
A new facial recognition technology is the highlight of the Oppo A83. Reportedly the technology can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds using 128 unique feature points on the user’s face. Stay tuned for more on the phone and further details.
