YouTube Feature Update: Now Adjust YouTube Video Playback Speed
Google’s video streaming website YouTube is set to have a new feature very soon. A feature which will allow users to choose the playback speed of the videos they are watching. The feature is already available for desktop users for several years now.
Now Adjust YouTube Video Playback Speed
Now, YouTube is bringing it to YouTube for Android and iOs mobile apps. It happened as users incessantly requested Google for this feature.

Once YouTube gets the feature rollout, YouTube users on mobile will be able to speed up or slow down videos. Sources from the development team reveals that playback speed can be adjusted from ‘0.25x’ to ‘2x’ speed via the overflow menu of the player controls.
This is what Google has to say about the roll out:
To speed up or slow down video, we render the video frames in alignment with the modified audio timestamps. Video frames are not necessarily encoded chronologically, so for the video to stay in sync with the audio playback, the video decoder needs to work faster than the rate at which the video frames need to be rendered.
However, the feature will be available to all iOs users and those android users who are using Android 5.0 Lollipop and higher versions.
