India to Get its New Telecom Policy by February 5

India is all set to replace its existing telecom policy with a brand new policy document.

Union Minister Manoj Sinha who hails the telecom portfolio said that India’s telecom department (DoT) is readying the draft of country’s new telecom policy.

New Indian Telecom Policy By February 2018

The draft would be ready by December-end for public comments and the policy would go functional by February next year.

Sinha said in a briefing:

 “We are trying to bring new telecom policy by February. For this the working group has started the process. We expect to finalise draft by end of December and place it for public comments,” the Communications Minister told reporters.”

Besides talking about the policy, Sinha also observed that by the end of November, Government would finish the first phase of Bharat net project that reportedly connects 1 lakh village panchayats with high-speed broadband by the end of November.
