Micromax Unveils Yu Smartphone Brand, Runs On Cyanogen Operating System

Micromax, India’s second largest smartphone manufactures  unveiled today its new range of mobile devices under a new brand name ‘Yu’. The range is made to cater to the needs of growing market of tech lovers. The brand name comes after Yu televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax. Yu Televentures partners with Cyanogen to offer customized user experience to end users.

The first smartphone of this series will be launched next month, sources said. The company hasn’t yet disclosed the specs of the device and its set price as of now. As story surfaced, Rahul Sharma, Micromax co-founder told news agencies the following:

“This will be a game changer not just in India but globally too. Yu has been envisioned for building an ecosystem of connected devices and offer customized experience to users,”

The brand will directly create an engagement with end users and will provide them with bootlegger access for quick software updates.  Cyanogen Os is built on Android. The operating system is known for its ability to deliver rich software advancements. The OS  offers capabilities to optimize performance, customization, security and privacy features on mobile devices. Yu is under serious talks with leading e-commerce retailers to launch this product online.
