LinkedIn Buys HR Startup Careerify To Enhance Its Recruitment Business



LinkedIn, the largest professional network has acquired a Toronto based HR startup Careerify to automate its existing referral process. Careerify mainly focuses on software for businesses to hire people. Careerify owns two major products- an employer branding software product and an internal mobility software.

Careerify CEO and founder Harpaul Sambhi wrote:

We decided to join LinkedIn due to what we lacked – massive scale,” he said. “More than 30,000 companies across the globe leverage LinkedIn for recruitment, and with more than 347 million members, LinkedIn offers an opportunity to make a much larger impact on job seeking and hiring.

With the latest acquisition, LinkedIn is looking at developing a referral service that will assist companies explore prospective candidates through its existing employee’s contacts and networks. That means, LinkedIn will use an employee’s contacts on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to get the suitable candidate for a position. The company didn’t disclose the terms of the contact.
