IRCTC Starts Cash On Delivery For Online Ticketing Via Bookmytrain.com
Indian Railway has now started selling tickets to the travelers in Cash-on-Delivery mode. Meaning, book your ticket online and pay in cash when ticket(s) is get delivered at your place.
IRCTC has taken the step as there are good count of customers who don’t want to pay via credit card / debit card or net banking, citing security risks.
A senior IRCTC official involved in the project said:
“One has to just book the ticket online and payments will be made at the time of delivery of tickets. The cash-on-delivery scheme will be initially available in more than 200 cities and has been started on pilot basis.
To avail the facility, a customer is required to book his ticket 5 days prior to his journey. For each sleeper ticket a customer need to pay INR 40 and for an AC ticket, the charge will be 60 INR. Currently, Bookmytrain.com is authorized to offer COD through its official website and app.
