Instagram Introducing In-App Shopping Ads For Select Advertisers
After Twitter and Facebook, now Instagram has introduced an in-app shopping module for the users. Reportedly, the social networking is testing a new product-tagging feature to allow potential advertisers sell their products directly within the Instagram.
Shoppable Tag Feature :
The feature will work in form of tags. Advertisers can tag their products inside images. This is similar to how we use tagging for users. Once tagged, users can tap on a tag and purchase particular product from within Instagram without having to open additional browser windows.
The social network knows that random product placement can annoy users, therefore, tags are hidden by default and revealed by choice.
Partner Advertisers :
Currently, this shoppable tag feature is open for select advertisers, and the lucky list of the test partners include Abercombie & Fitch, BaubleBar, Coach, Hollister, JackThreads, J.Crew, Kate Spade New York, Levi’s, Lulu’s, Macy’s, Michael Kors, MVMT Watches, Tory Burch, Warby Parker, and Shopbop. More advertisers can join the league in times to come.
