India post, the state owned postal service has reportedly made big fortunes out of their association with e-commerce giants Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon etc. The department claims a revenue surge of up to 1000 crore earned this fiscal by delivering consignments in COD mode from these e-commerce majors. In the fiscal 2015, the revenue earned was 500 crore followed by fiscal 2013 when it was just 100 crore.
India post’s widest network ensures delivery of the goods from e-commerce magnets even in the far flung areas of the country. This default advantage helps shipper to deliver consignments on time and mint huge profits. India post has business tie-ups with e-ecommerce Juggernauts Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, Yepme and Snapdeal.
Notably, India post delivers 3 Lac packets for Amazon each month. This is followed by Snapdeal (80 Thousand packets), Yepme (60 Thousand packets), Myntra (50 Thousand packets ) and Flipkart (30 Thousand packets).
