  • Tap the info button to the right of your current watch.
  • Now select Unpair Apple Watch.
  • Confirm the process by pressing Unpair (watch name).
  • If you’ve subscribed to a cellular service, choose to Keep or Remove your subscription plan.
  • Now disable the activation lock by entering your Apple ID password and pressing Unpair.

As you unpair the Apple Watch, your watch will start backing up your watch’s latest data to your iPhone. Once the backup completes, your Apple watch will unpair itself from your current iPhone.

All active Bluetooth accessory pairings are deleted, Apple Pay cards used on Apple Watch are removed, and the passcode is wiped out. After this, your Apple watch will restore itself to Apple’s factory settings.

  • Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  • Click on Settings.

  • First of all, remove any Transit cards you have stored with Apple Watch. To do so, head on the Watch app on iPhone > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transit Cards
  • Open the Watch app on iPhone
  • Select the My Watch tab at the bottom, then tap All Watches in the top left corner
  • Tap the circled “i” next to the watch you want to unpair
  • Select Unpair Apple Watch then tap Unpair again
  • If asked, Enter your Apple ID password

  • Plug-in charger to the Apple Watch
  • Press and hold the side button
  • Firmly press on the Power Off slider
  • Tap Erase all content and settings
