HDFC Green Pin Initiative : Now Change Your Debit Card PIN Via SMS

HDFC, the premier private sector bank starts an entirely new initiative called ‘Green pin‘ to endorse its corporate social responsibilities towards environment and offer better customer services to the customers. The bank will now send the debit card PIN numbers to the account holders via SMS instead of postal services.

Senior VP and Business Head (Cards Payments Products) HDFC Parag Rao briefed about the initiative. He told that the new process introduced will be eco-friendly, convenient and time saving. The ‘Green Pin’ program will enable consumers to generate PIN for their debit card when they need it. We will not only be able to reduce the paper consumption but also contribute to the environment.

Under the Green PIN initiative bank will send OTP (one time password) to the account holders on their numbers registered with the bank. Using the OTP user would be able to change their PIN in nearest HDFC ATM. The program has been flagged of throughout the country except J&K.
