Google Unveils New Carousel Interface for Mobile Search Results
Google has added new carousel feature in the mobile search results. It will show recent articles, videos and other related items when a users search for topics or websites. Though, Google hasn’t added all major topics or websites, they’ll be adding up soon in the carousel.
Ardan Arac, Product Manager, Google Search, said:
“Whether you’re looking for the latest clips from The Daily Show, news about the possibility of Greece leaving the Eurozone, or highlights from today’s Panthers game against the Canadiens, it can be hard to sift through all the great videos, articles and more out there to find what interests you. Now, if you search on Google on your mobile, you’ll see the freshest, most relevant content from within a single website grouped together in one easy-to-scan place.
Now when you will be searching for a topic or website through the Google search app or Google chrome, you’ll see a carousel of recent videos and articles when scrolling to bottom. The items in the carousel are related to the website you’re searching for.
Ardan Arac explains further:
“For example, if you search for NPR, you’ll see links to all their latest articles and videos. Search for the Knicks to browse content from their site as well as videos and news from ESPN or Bleacher Report,
The feature is not currently available for the users in India. Google may roll this feature out to Indian users soon.
