Google Services Resumed After A Sudden Outage On 24th January 2014

On Friday 24th, 2014, Google services stopped for a while due to a sudden outage. This led to a ruckus among the millions of users across the globe that uses Google or its associated services including Gmail and YouTube. Although Google resumed the services shortly, authorities are still looking into the matter. It’s still unclear what led to the outage that created a standstill among the users in India, Britain and the United States. Google Services Resumed After A Sudden Outage. Interestingly, Yahoo, the ace rival of Google first posted a screenshot of the Gmail error page on its official Twitter handle.

The company said on its “App Status” dashboard online:

We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly,” the company said on its “App Status” dashboard online, which tracks the state of various Google services.  Users attempting to sign on saw a “temporary error” message and a brief note: “We’re sorry, but your Gmail account is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes.
