Google Discontinues Its Google Earth API

After 6 years of continuous association, Google, the search engine giant has announced the closer of its Earth API, used for 3D mapping. Google has a better reason to do so. The API is built on NPAPI plug-in framework that is no more in use by Chrome and Firefox. Both they abandoned the framework for security reasons.

Another reason behind the decision is problems with cross-platform support on mobile devices also factored into the decision. A Google official said that API will get a complete farewell within a year before December 12, 2015.

The company made no words on its replacement, though; they are of the thought that there will be more exciting product launches in the future.
