Facebook owned Instagram seems unstoppable when it comes to make this photo based social network more innovative and user friendly.
Instagram Hashtag Follow Feature
Now, a new feature on the platform will allow its users to follow trending hashtags, much like they follow their friends and family. This very useful feature will help users make their Instagram posts more discoverable.
Instagram officially announced the feature via a blog post. The social media giant said:
“Today we’re introducing the ability to follow hashtags, giving you new ways to discover photos, videos and people on Instagram. Now it’s even easier to stay connected with the interests, hobbies, passions, and communities you care about.”
Following a hashtag is like following users on Instagram. All you have to do is just type the hashtag you want to follow, and click one from the list of hashtags popped.
Similar to the user profiles, Instagram will show a “follow” button next to hashtag. To follow the hashtag, you can click on the follow button. Now you can see top posts from that hashtag in your feed and also some of the latest stories in your stories bar. Needn’t to say, you can unfollow the hashtag whenever you want to.
Instagram noted:
“To give you more ways to find hashtags you might like, you can check out the hashtags other people follow in their profiles.”
Notably, if your account is private, the hashtags you follow will only be visible to your followers.
