Aura One E-Book Reader : A 7.8 Inch Device Comes To Haunt Kindle
Amazon Kindle, the undisputed leader in e-book reader segment should be ready for a stiff competition now. To outshine the Kindle, Kobo has launched its new e-reader dubbed Aura One. The Aura One E-Book Reader could pose serious business challenges to Amazon Kindle.
The Aura One highlights a massive 7.8 inch display, possibly bigger than any other e-book reader available in the market. The display of the device offers incredible pixel density of 300ppi. Despite a big screen on board, Aura One didn’t compromise from the weight and size of the device. Aura One is 6.9mm thick and weighs 230 grams.
The makers of Aura One seems keen to offer even better experience with the color and display. That’s why, Aura One comes with a software that helps users to adjust the colour temperature of the display. The temperature and tone of the display can be adjust manually or using the software. The software corrects the tone and display itself according to the time of the day with the auto-adjust setting.
Another key feature that Aura One would be appreciated for is its water resistance. Kobo claims that its device meets IPX8 standards and offers better water resistance, compared with IP67.
Aura One E-Book Reader Specs Highlights
On specs front, the device is powered by a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Buyers can purchase Aura One from September 6 in the US and Canada for $229 (roughly Rs. 15,300) and $249 (roughly Rs. 16,600) respectively. The device will be unveiled for sale in some of the European countries on the same day.
